The story

We taught a cat flap to recognise prey.

Flappie ontstond doordat de katten van onze moeder steeds muizen mee naar huis namen. Na drie jaar ontwikkeling herkent ons kattenluik prooien direct op het apparaat en houdt het luik gesloten. Meer dan €1 miljoen aan voorverkoop hielp ons op de markt. Duizenden Flappies bewaken nu deuren in heel Europa.

Echte Flappie-detecties. Prooien worden op het apparaat zelf herkend en het luik blijft op slot.

Waarschijnlijk doe je het nu al: dertig advertentievarianten voordat het bureau een eerste versie stuurt, de pipeline waar niemand om vroeg, de landingspagina die je zelf live zette omdat wachten langer duurde. Binnen een organisatie die je vermoedelijk afremt.

Hier is die er niet. Je komt in een praktisch team van ongeveer tien mensen en werkt direct met beide oprichters aan een product dat klanten al willen. De groeiaanpak is nog een onbeschreven blad. Elk experiment krijgt vooraf een meetbaar doel, je schrapt je eigen ideeën als de data dat aangeven en elke week gaat er iets live. Verkochte aantallen en contributiemarge zijn jouw cijfers.
