Einfache Installation, wenn man die Abmessungen genau beachtet. Einfaches Verbinden mit dem WLAN über die App. Die App ist übersichtlich und nimmt standardmäßig von jeder erkannten Bewegung vor der Katzenklappe ein Video auf. Eine Meldung von der App bekommt man jedoch lediglich bei einer Beuteerkennung. Nach der 2-wöchigen Kalibrierungsphase funktioniert die Beuteerkennung einwandfrei.
Wir wurden von den Flappie-Jungs mit einem Prototypen ausgerüstet und haben am Testprogramm teilgenommen. Inzwischen ist die Flappie bald ein halbes Jahr in Betrieb und wir sind äusserst zufrieden. Mit der Zeit wurde die KI immer besser/genauer - inzwischen sind wir komplett mausfrei. Vielen Dank Flappie-Team für eure tolle Technologie und stets angenehmen Support. Wir freuen uns auf alles, was noch kommen mag =)
Hallo Flappie Team, Ich habe Flappie seit Ende Dezember in Benutzung. Ich freue mich sehr, Fotos und Videos meiner Katze zu erhalten. Leider hat die Sperrfunktion anfangs nicht funktioniert, dh die Maus wurde erkannt, die Klappe jedoch nicht versperrt. Mittlerweile hat die Klappe jedoch mehrmals zuverlässig versperrt. Seid einiger Zeit habe allerdings deutlich weniger Videos, dh viele Ein-und Ausgänge werden nicht in der App angezeigt (insbesondere tagsüber). Es gab schon länger auch keine Beuteversuche in der App und auf den Videos. Allerdings waren auch keine Beutetiere im Haus ( was ja mein vordringlicher Wunsch war). Ich kann natürlich nicht einschätzen, ob die Katze keine Mäuse mehr bringt , oder das der Eintritt verwehrt wird und dies nicht in der App und auf Video angezeigt wird. Viele Grüße Andrea
Store owner replied: Hi Andrea, danke, dass du so genau festhältst, was klappt und was noch nicht 🙏. Zu Beginn gab es tatsächlich einen Bug: Beute erkannt, Klappe blieb offen. Dank deiner Videos konnten wir das fixen – seither sperrt Flappie zuverlässig. Wir testen etwas rum, wie viele Alltags-Clips sinnvoll sind, damit die App nicht überquillt. Offensichtlich haben wir bei dir etwas zu stark gefiltert – Beute-Videos sollten immer auftauchen :) Mit jedem neuen Gerät und mehr Daten werden Erkennung und Anzeige weiter reifen – der breite Markt-Launch gibt uns dafür den nächsten Schub. Dass in letzter Zeit keine Mäuse reinkamen, klingt schon mal nach einem super Plus-Punkt – wir wollen aber auch, dass du alles sauber in der App siehst. Danke fürs Dranbleiben! - Denis von Flappie 🐾
Endlich ruhige Nächte!! Durch Flappie müssen wir nun nicht mehr jede Nacht Mäuse fangen- was besseres gibt es nicht, wenn man Freigängerkatze hat. Hier und da lernt die KI noch dazu- Fortschritte, die man mitbekommt. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit unserer Flappie! Nie wieder ohne…
Wir sind sehr dankbar, dass wir bereits am Testprogramm von Flappie teilnehmen konnten! Unsere beiden „Tiger“ beglücken uns mitunter täglich mit Mäusen. Auch waren schon Ratten, Vögel, Eichhörnchen und sogar ein kleines Kaninchen mit dabei. Seit ich Flappie im Dezember eingebaut habe, wurde die Übergabe diverser Mäusegeschenke fast zu 100% verhindert. Meistens war dies in der Nacht. Mit Flappie kann ich wieder beruhigt schlafen.

Absolutes Must-Have für Katzenbesitzer – Flappie begeistert auf ganzer Linie! Ich bin absolut begeistert von der Flappie Katzenklappe! Endlich eine smarte Lösung, die wirklich durchdacht ist. Was mich am meisten überzeugt hat: Die Klappe erkennt, ob meine Katze Beute im Maul hat – und lässt sie in diesem Fall nicht ins Haus. Kein ungewollter Überraschungsbesuch von Mäusen oder Vögeln mehr – genial! Die Erkennung funktioniert zuverlässig und schnell. Meine Katzen haben sich sofort an die Klappe gewöhnt, der Einbau war unkompliziert, und die Verarbeitung macht einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck. Besonders praktisch ist die zugehörige App: Ich kann sehen, wann meine Katzen raus- oder reingegangen sind, individuelle Zugangszeiten einstellen. Die App ist übersichtlich, stabil und bietet viele nützliche Funktionen, die man schnell nicht mehr missen möchte. Unsere Kater ist total begeistert von der neuen Möglichkeit, selbständig rein und raus zu gehen. Erst mit Flappie hat er es wirklich geschnallt, andere Türchen hat er gemieden. We have three cats, Kysa the mother, and two sons Tigrou and Pirate who are now 18 months old. We live on the countryside and there is a high number of small animals to hunt. Mice of all sorts, rats, birds, lizards, ferrets. This small family are heavy and very talented hunters, some days they were brining up to five preys per day, there was blood everywhere. We had to find a solution and are very glad to participate in the Flappie project. Flappie war super einfach zum montieren. Sie funktionniert trotz des schwachen Wifis im Keller sehr zuverlässig. Ich kann jetzt beruhigt in die Ferien gehen. Wenn Flappie dann fremde Katzen noch aussperren kann ist sie perfekt.
Ist angekommen!
Zuerst gab es Verzögerung bei der Lieferung was uns ärgerte. Nun kann ich aber sagen, dass ich mit dem Produkt und dem Support sehr zufrieden bin. Die Klappe funktioniert zuverlässig und unsere Katzen und wir sind happy.
Seid wir Flappie haben gibt es keine Maus mehr im Haus :-)
Nach über einem Jahr geduldigen Wartens wurden wir endlich als „Versuchskätzchen“ auserwählt – juhui! Die Freude war riesig. Schon bei der Installation ging’s dann spannend los: Ein kleines Teil verabschiedete sich gleich mal in die ewigen Jagdgründe. Aber hey – wir konnten das gute Stück trotzdem zum Laufen bringen. Ein Jahr später ziehen wir ein erstes Fazit: Die Beuteerkennung klappt in etwa drei von vier Fällen. Wenn unsere Katze z. B. mit einer Maus im Maul anmarschiert, macht die Klappe meistens brav zu – öffnet sich aber oft direkt danach wieder. Das clevere Büsi steht also einen Sekundenbruchteil später samt Beute doch im Wohnzimmer. Cleveres Katzentürchen, clevere Katze – Punkt an die Natur. Bei Eidechsen hingegen bleibt die Technik eher auf Tauchstation – da wird selten etwas erkannt. Unser Schlusswort: Da ist noch Luft nach oben… sehr viel Luft.

Genau solche Szenen brauchen wir, um die Schließ-Logik feiner abzustimmen. Eidechsen (und generell Reptilien) sind weniger populär bei Katzen als Mäuse, und deswegen haben wir hier noch ein kleineres Datenset. Aktuell liegt unser neues Modell bei ~93 % F1-Score; mit mehr Real-Clips (auch Eidechsen!) klettern wir weiter. Wenn du magst, markiere uns einfach die kniffligen Videos in der App – dann landen sie direkt im Training. Das neue Flappie überzeugt durch eine durchdachte Konstruktion, schnelle Montage und einen modernen Look... Die neue App zeichnet alles auf und zeigt verhinderte "Mauseinfuhr" zuverlässig an. Wir haben seit der Montage keine unerwünschten Eindringlinge mehr.

How does Flappie prevent my cat from bringing home prey?
Flappie uses artificial intelligence to detect different objects, such as birds or mice, that cats bring as prey. Thanks to this object detection system, Flappie can determine whether the cat comes into the house with or without prey. If the cat has prey with it, the flap stays closed and prevents the cat from bringing the prey into the house.
When will my cat be allowed back in?
Flappie stays closed as long as the cat tries to get in with prey. As soon as it tries to get in without, the cat is let in.
Does Flappie only recognize mice or also other prey animals?
Whether bird, mouse, fish or snake – Flappie recognizes any type of prey.
How reliable is prey detection?
The mouse detection algorithm used in Flappie is extremely accurate and reliable. The algorithm is continuously trained and updated with new data to improve its accuracy and ensure that it can detect mice with high accuracy and minimal false positives.
Is prey detection continually improving?
The current version of Flappie prevents most prey from entering. The algorithm is constantly learning and thus the detection of prey is perfected.
Can multiple cats use Flappie?
Don't worry, Flappie can be used for more cats than you could ever own.
Can I set a schedule for my cats to come and go?
Yes you can. However, the exit cannot be personalized for each cat, but applies to all, since the chip is only read at the entrance.

How does Flappie get energy?
Flappie is powered by a 12V power supply, which is included in delivery.
Is the Flappie app free or is there a premium version?
The Flappie app is available in a free basic version that offers all the important functions such as prey detection and lock times. There is also a premium version with advanced features such as more storage space for videos and more detailed activity analysis of your cat.
Can I set the access rules for my cat in the app?
Yes, you can set up individual access rules for your cat in the Flappie app. You can specify when your cat is allowed in or out and block access in both directions.
Do I absolutely need the Flappie app to use the cat flap?
No, Flappie can be used without the app. However, the app offers additional features such as activity tracking, automated lock times and notifications that are not available without the app. We also notify you about the latest software updates through the app, so we highly recommend using it.
How do I connect the Flappie cat flap to the app?
Download the app to your smartphone. During the onboarding process in the app, all steps for connecting the cat flap will be explained intuitively.
Can I control multiple Flappie cat flaps with one app?
Yes, you can control multiple Flappies with one app. Each flap can be individually configured and managed.
Can I receive notifications when my cat brings home a prey?
Yes, the Flappie app sends you notifications as soon as your cat tries to come into the house with prey. This way you are immediately informed and can react.
How safe is my data in the Flappie app?
The security of your data is our highest priority. All data is encrypted and stored locally on the Flappie cat flap without being transferred to external servers. You have full control over your data and we ensure that it remains confidential and protected. Your videos and photos will only be shared on FlappieTV or in the community with your consent.
Is there a way to integrate the app with smart home systems?
Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to integrate the Flappie app with smart home systems. However, we are working on offering this feature in the future.
Can I use the app on multiple devices at the same time?
Yes, you can use the Flappie app on multiple devices at the same time. Your settings and data are synchronized so you can access it anytime and from any device.
Can I view and save photos and videos of my cat via the app?
Yes, you can view and save photos and videos of your cat using the Flappie app. These recordings are automatically made when your cat uses the cat flap. We even encourage you to share these special moments with the Flappie community.

How secure is my data?
Your data is absolutely safe with us. You can decide for yourself which data is shared. Since the AI algorithms are run on Flappie itself, it is also ensured that the data is not transferred to remote servers.
What kind of data does Flappie record exactly?
Flappie only records footage on the outside of the cat flap, so privacy in the living space is maintained. You as a user also have the option to save videos and share them anonymously with Flappie to train Flappie's AI algorithms. This allows the accuracy of the algorithm to be further improved over time. The data recorded is stored securely on servers and encrypted to protect the privacy of users.
