Thank you for your order with Flappie. This Shipping Policy describes how we process, pack and ship your order, as well as the key terms relating to delivery, shipping costs and delivery problems. It supplements our General Terms and Conditions; in the event of any conflict, the Terms and Conditions prevail.

1. Current Shipping Status

Flappie is in stock and is sold as a regular purchase. Specifically:

  • Currently: We ship from regular inventory. Orders are processed in accordance with the general shipping terms of this policy — with no reservation mechanism and no queue. The former reservation programme (Flappie Founders Program) has concluded and has been fully delivered.
  • Possible return to a reservation phase: Due to production bottlenecks or stock shortages, Flappie may temporarily offer reservations only once again. In that case, the provisions in Section 8 apply again.

We clearly indicate the applicable shipping status on the product page and at checkout. If you have any questions about the current status of your order, please contact us at info@flappie.ch.

2. Shipping Regions

We currently deliver to the following regions:

  • Switzerland (incl. Liechtenstein)
  • European Economic Area (EEA) — including all EU member states as well as Norway and Iceland

Shipping to the United Kingdom or to other countries outside the regions listed above is currently not available. Should an order accidentally be placed from a region we do not cover, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund the full amount.

3. Shipping Carriers, Delivery Times and Shipping Route

We ship all orders from our central warehouse in Germany. Depending on the destination region, we use the following shipping carriers:

Germany DE warehouse → DHL → recipient 2 to 3 business days
Rest of the EEA DE warehouse → DHL → recipient 4 to 5 business days
Switzerland & Liechtenstein DE warehouse → Frauenfeld → Swiss Post → recipient usually within one week

Delivery times are non-binding estimates. Orders received on business days by 12:00 noon are generally shipped the same or next business day; we ship on an ongoing basis from inventory. We will notify you by email of the specific shipping date and the tracking number as soon as your order has been dispatched.

We reserve the right to adjust delivery times to account for seasonal peak periods (e.g. holidays), production cycles, or factors beyond our control (force majeure, strikes, customs delays). The principles set out in Section 5 (Risk and Transfer of Risk) and in the Terms and Conditions, Section A 5, shall apply.

4. Shipping Costs, VAT and Customs Duties

Shipping costs

Shipping costs are shown transparently at checkout and vary depending on the destination region and order value. There is currently no free-shipping threshold.

VAT

We ship under the DDP principle (Delivered Duty Paid): all VAT and any customs duties are included in the checkout price or are shown separately there and are remitted by us in advance. On delivery, there are no additional taxes or customs fees that you, as the customer, would have to pay directly to the carrier.

Specifically:

  • Switzerland: Swiss VAT of 8.1% is shown on the invoice.
  • Germany: German VAT of 19%.
  • Austria: Austrian VAT of 20%.
  • Liechtenstein: Swiss VAT of 8.1%.
  • Other EEA countries: The VAT rate applicable in the respective country.

Customs duties

Our logistics are set up so that no additional customs fees arise on handover. In the extremely rare event that a customs duty is nevertheless charged directly to you, please contact us at info@flappie.ch with proof; we review each case individually.

5. Risk and Transfer of Risk

All shipments are insured.

  • For consumers in the EEA, the risk of accidental loss or accidental damage passes to you, in accordance with Art. 20 of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, only upon actual handover to you (or to a person designated by you who is not the carrier). Until that point, Flappie bears the transport risk.
  • For Swiss consumers and for non-consumer orders, the risk passes to you upon handover to the shipping carrier in accordance with Section A 8 of the Terms and Conditions; any mandatory consumer-protection provisions remain unaffected.

6. Tracking and Delivery

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation by email containing the tracking number provided by the shipping carrier. You can track the current status directly on the website of the respective carrier (Swiss Post or DHL). We do not offer continuous end-to-end tracking across multiple carriers.

Due to the value of the goods, we ship all orders with delivery against signature or an equivalent proof of identification by the carrier, where this is offered by the respective carrier. If you are not available at the time of delivery, the carrier will leave a collection notice, and the parcel can be collected from a branch, parcel locker or pickup point within the period specified by the carrier (typically 7–14 days).

7. Delivery Problems and Special Cases

7.1 Incorrect or incomplete delivery address

You are responsible for providing a correct and complete delivery address. Once the order has been handed over to the shipping carrier, we cannot guarantee that a change of address is still possible. Should the parcel be returned to us due to an incorrect address, we will contact you to clarify. Re-delivery will only take place once you have again paid the full shipping costs. If you do not wish to have the order re-delivered, we will refund the purchase price less the original shipping costs and a reasonable processing fee (typically 15% of the order value).

7.2 Uncollected shipments

If a parcel is not collected within the storage period set by the carrier and is returned to us, the same provisions as under Section 7.1 apply: re-delivery will only take place upon payment of the new shipping costs; alternatively, we will refund the purchase price less shipping and processing costs.

7.3 Lost shipments

If your shipment is marked as "lost" according to tracking, or remains "in transit" for an unusually long time, please contact us at info@flappie.ch. Processing a case as a loss requires:

  • notification within 14 days of the estimated delivery date per the shipping confirmation;
  • your order number and the tracking number;
  • a brief description of the circumstances (e.g. "not delivered", "delivered to the wrong address").

We will then initiate an investigation with the carrier. Such investigations can take up to three weeks. If the carrier confirms the loss of the shipment, we will send a free replacement or refund the purchase price — at your choice. If tracking demonstrably shows that the shipment was handed over to you or to a person authorised by you, the delivery is deemed to have been completed; in this case there is no claim to a replacement, unless you can assert mandatory consumer-protection claims.

7.4 Damaged shipments

Please inspect the shipment for visible damage upon receipt. Visible transport damage must be reported to Flappie without delay, but no later than within 4 days of receipt, in writing to info@flappie.ch, with:

  • order number and tracking number;
  • photos of the damaged packaging and the device;
  • a brief description of the damage.

Hidden transport damage that was not apparent upon receipt must be reported within 4 days of discovery, but in any case within the statutory period for notifying defects. Confirmed transport damage will be remedied by a free replacement or — if this is not possible — by a refund of the purchase price.

7.5 Refused acceptance

If you refuse to accept a shipment without legitimate grounds, this will be treated as a return under your right of withdrawal (see Terms and Conditions, Section A 13, as well as our Return and Refund Policy). Costs for outbound and return shipping, as well as any diminished value of the goods, may be deducted.

8. Reservation Phase / Pre-Sale (currently not active)

The reservation programme is currently not active — Flappie is in stock (see Section 1). Should Flappie temporarily return to a reservation phase due to limited inventory, production bottlenecks or strategic decisions, the following provisions apply in addition:

  • Placing a reservation does not constitute a purchase contract (see Terms and Conditions, Section A 18.1). It is an expression of interest with a reservation deposit.
  • Estimated delivery dates are communicated on the product page, at checkout and by email. These are non-binding estimates.
  • Reservation customers are regularly informed by email about production progress and the estimated shipping date.
  • Reservations are fulfilled in the order in which they were registered in the production queue.
  • Shipping for reservation deliveries: Shipments from the reservation programme are preferentially sent as a registered shipment with signature to ensure secure delivery to reservation customers.
  • Before actual dispatch, you may cancel your reservation free of charge at any time in accordance with Terms and Conditions, Section A 18.4; the reservation deposit will be refunded in full (less any payment processing fees).

9. Returns and Right of Withdrawal

Information on returns, the right of withdrawal and refunds can be found in our Return and Refund Policy as well as in the Terms and Conditions, in particular:

  • Section A 10 — 30-day satisfaction guarantee
  • Section A 11 — 24-month warranty
  • Section A 12 — Returns and warranty handling
  • Section A 13 — 14-day right of withdrawal for EU/UK consumers

10. Force Majeure

Flappie is not liable for delivery delays or failed deliveries that are attributable to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural events, strikes, disruptions at shipping carriers, official orders, pandemics or other events of force majeure. In such cases, we will inform you promptly about the estimated delivery status and work with you to find a solution.
